Food can be introduced to the baby after 6 months, other than mother's milk. It's important to select the food that is easily digest and also nutritive. Below are the list of baby foods introduced during 6 to 7 months.
Yellow moong dal water.
Rice porridge
Vegetable soup
Mashed fruits
Mashed Vegetables
Apple puree
Apple Puree
Apple is good source of dietary fiber, Vitamin A and Vitamin C. Chop the apples and cook in water to make puree.
Ingredients
1/4 of an apple
3/4 cup of water
Procedure
Peel and chop the apple.
Boil the water and add the apple pieces. Cover the pan with lid and cook in low medium flame.
Cook the apples until it is soft . Drain the water and make puree.
Yellow moong dal water
This is the first dal introduced to the baby as its light and easy to digest. Vegetables can be added along with the soup to make more nutritive.
Ingredients
1tablespoon split yellow moong dal.
1 cup of water
Procedure
Soak the dal in water for half an hour. if dal is not soaked it will be difficult to cook.
Wash the dal and pressure cook in medium flame for about 3 to 4 whistles.
Strain the water.
Rice porridge
Ingredients
2 tablespoon of rice
1 cup of water
Procedure
Soak the rice for 1/2 an hour.
Pressure cook the rice for about 3 whistles until it become soft.
Mashed Fruits
Apple puree
Mash the banana and give it to baby.
Mashed vegetables
Carrot
Potato
Pumpkin
Bottle guard
can be steamed until its soft and mash it before feeding.
Vegetable soup
Ingredients
1 tablespoon of moong dal
Few pieces of carrot and bottle guard
Procedure
Wash the moong dal and mix with vegetables.
Add 2 cups of water and pressure cook till dal is cooks.
Strain the water and give it to the baby.
