Restaurant style mutton curry at your home.
This style of mutton curry will be lightly thin and spicy. It is prepared by adding Coconut milk and freshly grounded masala items such as fennel seeds, pepper corns, red chilli, coriander seeds. Adding the freshly powdered masala items will give nice aroma and tastes like restaurant style mutton curry.
This mutton curry can be paired along with steamed rice, idli or dosa.
Ingredients
For cooking mutton
Mutton pieces - 250 gms
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Salt
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
For making mutton curry
Small shallots - 15 no’s
Cinnamon, cloves, cardamom - each 2 no’s
Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tsp
Tomato - 1 small size
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 3 tsp
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Coconut milk - 1/2 cup
Oil and salt
Dry Spices to roast and grind
Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
Red chilli - 2 no’s
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Pepper seeds - 1 tbsp
Coconut 1 inch - 2 pieces
Pre Preparation steps
To make hotel style mutton gravy, dry roast all the ingredients listed under dry spices and grind in mixie to make powder.
Extract coconut milk.
Method
1. Wash the mutton pieces by adding 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and salt.
2. Add all the ingredients listed under - for cooking mutton . Pressure cook the mutton pieces for about 4 whistles.
3. Heat oil in a pan, then add cinnamon sticks, cardamom, cloves.
4. Add sliced small shallots, curry leaves and saute it.
5. Add ginger garlic paste, saute it until raw smell of ginger garlic paste goes. Add sliced tomato and salt.
6. Add turmeric powder , coriander powder, red chilli powder.
7. Now add boiled mutton pieces along with water allow them to cook.
8. Add coconut milk then Add the dry spice powder and mix well.
